We use technology to re-invent the global food supply chain to reduce unethical food waste and connect consumers with quality producers faster to provide fresher food. In order to achieve this, we are solving challenging problems in taste profiling, behavior prediction and real-time logistics. We need you to help us with that.

Position Summary:


The Area Team Lead is responsible for Fresh Produce receiving, checking in and Quality Control. You work in cooperation with other Leads to ensure smooth operations each week. You track KPI activity data daily and take appropriate action to drive positive results for the company and your team.


Essential Functions:

  • You ensure all associates work in a clean and organized area to ensure Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) are followed and maintained according to Marley Spoon Quality, Sanitation and Safety guidelines.

  • You are your team’s sounding board and own to the process to ensure associates are producing the correct quality and quantity of product, achieving daily production goals, are remaining fully engaged in their daily tasks, and you build morale by motivating and coaching your team members.

  • You participate in on-going operational improvement projects, and assist your superiors with new-hire training and development of the team.

  • You are your team’s mentor and maintain a supportive relationship with each member as their lead.

  • You manage your team’s performance and work schedule, as well as reporting performance reviews for your team.

  • You support production in your area as necessary due to production demand.

  • Solid understanding of GMP and HACCP

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Warehousing / Manufacturing / Food Processing / or Food & Beverage service is an advantage

  • Good Excel computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office

  • Proficient English language skills

  • Able to solve problems and find solutions quickly

 Preferred Qualifications:


  • Prior experience as section or team leader in a similar field or with proven track record
  • Food Safety qualification preferred
  • Minimum 7 years experience in food manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years experience as team leader in manufacturing environment
  • Has lead or at least been involved in continuous improvement activities
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing site operating with “Lean Manufacturing” practices
  • Demonstrates ability to coach and support talented team members to help them grow and access more responsibilities
  • Safety & Quality first mindset, used to teach and enforce Safety and Quality rules
